Hello, everyone!
I'm Sugeeth, a person who had just recovered from the trauma of JEE (I mean, aren't all engineering aspirants reeling from the trauma of JEE still? )
I began with a simple mission, to get a prestigious position and make my parents happy, because who wouldn't like too?
I ended up switching dreams like a undecided maniac. I wanted to become a doctor, then a astronomer, later a priest. After a few years, I wished I was a pilot; and then I ended up working towards becoming an IITian (well, who doesn't want to become an IITian)? I ended up with something else entirely.
I was thrust headfirst into "the world of engineering" that welcomed me with open arms and clouds with no limits. I had no hopes, but this world gave me something to begin with. It valued what I had and allowed me to use it in future, unlike school where studies was paramount.
It's been more than a semester since I joined VIT. I got to meet like-minded, quirky and great personalities shining like gemstones in treasure troves!!!
Slowly I built trust among the teachers, and worked on joining clubs. Sure, but why clubs, you'd ask? Someone told me that clubs were the best way to gain achievements and recognition in VIT. They also mentioned that, well, it was very hard to get into a club. In a frenzy, I applied for 6 clubs during the first recruitment season.
I got rejected by the second club in my application. Immediately I went into overdrive, applying for a combined total of 13 clubs. I ended up getting accepted by 9 clubs. 🤣 Talk about suffering from success, literally…
But I immediately paid the tax… because, well I guess the "Bill comes due". My CAT 2 scores took a huge dive, literally. If CAT 2 had a pass or fail criteria, I would have failed flat on, miserably. Thank the Gods that it didn't have such a criteria.
The only good thing that I got out of such an endeavor was that I got a chance to participate in multiple events. I mean a lot! From Epochesque, to Decode DSA 2.0, to performing in Music Club's curtain raiser as the Nocturne Band! Wow, it meant a lot!
